January 10, 2019 Regular Board Meeting Agenda Item #14 Title APPROVAL FOR THE TWO-YEAR EXTENSION OF THE COLLEGE BOARD: SPRINGBOARD ELA TEXTBOOK FROM AUGUST 2019 - JULY 2021 Description To approve the adoption extension of The College Board: SpringBoard ELA textbook, as the primary instructional tool for gifted 6-12 English Language Arts instruction. This textbook was initially adopted in 2014. SpringBoard helps students build extensive content knowledge with close reading and analysis of texts, critical viewing, wide-ranging independent reading, and lively, engaging classroom discussion. Recommendation That the two-year extension of The College Board: SpringBoard ELA Textbook be approved.
