10. APPROVAL OF AFFILIATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN FAWCETT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, INC D/B/A FAWCETT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TECHNICAL COLLEGE AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FL
Description
The School Board offers to enrolled students a Health Science program at Suncoast Technical College (STC). STC enrolls students in an accredited degree program in the fields of Practical Nursing, Surgical Technology, EMT, Paramedic, Certified Nursing Assistant and Lab Assistant. Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Inc. d/b/a Fawcett Memorial Hospital Technical College operates a comprehensive acute-care medical-surgical hospital. STC desires to provide twenty students per year enrolled in the Degree Program a clinical learning experience through the application of knowledge and skills in actual patient-centered treatment situations in a health care setting.  Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Inc will make the facility available to STC for such clinical learning experience.

19. APPROVAL OF AGREEMENTS BETWEEN SARASOTA FAMILY YMCA AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO PROVIDE CHILD CARE SERVICES
Description
The Sarasota County YMCA agrees to provide child care services in conformance with 65C-22, Florida Administrative Code, "Child Care Services" at Fruitville, Gocio, Pine View, Southside, and Wilkinson.

20. APPROVAL OF SETTLEMENT OF BODILY INJURY CLAIM
Description
Melonie Seymour was involved in an automobile accident with one of our buses. She alleges traumatic neck injuries. Ms. Seymour is represented by an attorney. The claimant and her attorney have agreed to a settlement in the amount of $120,000.00.

That the settlement agreement in the amount of $120,000.00 be approved by the Board as presented.

39. APPROVAL OF THE MESI CAMP AT EMMA E. BOOKER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GRANT APPLICATION TO THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF SARASOTA COUNTY
Description
NON-COMPETITIVE: Grant funds of $15,000 will provide summer academic programming to Emma E. Booker Elementary students focusing on math, English Language Arts (ELA) and science that is aligned with grade-level expectations.

40. APPROVAL OF THE TITLE I, PART A, EDUCATION OF DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN AND YOUTH GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Description
ENTITLEMENT: Grant funds of $7,790,422 will provide supplemental resources to Alta Vista, Atwater, Brentwood, Cranberry, Emma E. Booker, Fruitville, Garden, Glenallen, Gocio, Lamarque, Tuttle, and Wilkinson Elementary Schools, Booker Middle School, Triad and Suncoast School for Innovative Studies for the purpose of assisting them in meeting the academic needs of their students in math, reading, writing and science.

Recommendation
That the Title I, Part A, Education of Disadvantaged Children and Youth grant application be approved.

41. APPROVAL OF THE FOOD FORESTS; LONG-TERM FOOD ABUNDANCE FOR SARASOTA SCHOOLS GRANT PROPOSAL TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
Description
COMPETITIVE: Grant funds of $75,000 will continue the expansion of the Farm to School program in Sarasota County Schools by planting fruit trees and edible plants on school campuses.

Description
The attached contract was approved for use on June 5, 2018. This request is to increase the approved dollar amount for the use of the contract. The funds for these purchases are contained in the budgets allocated to the appropriate departments and schools.

43. APPROVAL TO INCREASE THE PURCHASING LIMIT FOR BID #17-0401 FOR HIGH DEFINITION DOCUMENT CAMERA & RELATED SERVICES
Description
Bid #17-0401 for 'High Definition Document Camera & Related Services' was approved for award on May 2, 2017 to Troxell Communications, Inc., for $420,000.00. The Information Technology Department is requesting an increase of $410,000.00 as the High Definition Camera Project is being accelerated and a reduced price has been negotiated with the vendor. The funds for these purchases are contained in the budget allocated to Information Technology Department.

Description
Bid #16-0038 for 'Plumbing Services - Time and Materials' was approved for award in March 22, 2016 to Aqua Services, Inc., and Daniels Plumbing Services, Inc., for $200,000.00. The Facilities Services Department is requesting increase of $200,000.00 for backflow prevention, testing, and repair to comply with county code regulations. The funds for these purchases are contained in the budget allocated to Facilities Services Department.

Description
Piggybacking is the post-award use of a contractual document or process that allows an entity that was not contemplated in the original procurement to purchase the same supplies, equipment or services through that original bidding process. The School Board of Sarasota County Policy 7.70 Purchasing and Bidding allows for this process subject to the provisions of law. The Purchasing Department has researched and reviewed the competitive solicitation that are available for these purchases and has determined that the use of the attached contracts for the purpose cited present the best value and/or is the best interest of the School Board. The funds for these purchases are contained in the budgets allocated to the appropriate department and schools.

Description
The Construction Services' Change Orders are summarized on the enclosure for ease of review. These change orders collectively total an increase of $278,701.93 in gross contract dollars. Included in these change orders are ($84,107.56) credit for Direct Material Purchase; the corresponding Direct Material Purchase Orders of ($81,218.24) resulting in a net of $2,899.32 in Sales Tax savings.

50. APPROVAL OF MEP ENGINEER RANKINGS FOR THE NORTH PORT HIGH SCHOOL HVAC REPLACEMENT PROJECT
Description
The project's scope of work shall include but not limited to engineering services to resize and replace the existing air cooled chillers, associated pumps, variable frequency drives, add and refurbish ice storage tanks. On 6/26/18, the Professional Services Selection Committee (PSSC) met to select an MEP Engineer for this project. The PSSC has ranked them in accordance with School Board policy. The project budget is approximately $3,500,000.00. Funds for this project are available in the capital budget account.

Recommendation
That the rankings of MEP engineers for the North Port High School HVAC Renovation project be accepted as presented and the Director of Construction Services be authorized to attempt negotiations with the top-ranked firm.

Description
The School Board and the City of Sarasota, FL desire to comply with all requirements under the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Act.  A School Resource Officer Program has been established for the public school system of Sarasota County, FL.  The School Board and the City of Sarasota recognize the outstanding benefits of the School Resource Officer Program to the citizens of Sarasota, FL and particularly to the students of the public school system of Sarasota County, FL.  The School Board and the City of Sarasota desire to continue to provide law enforcement and related services to the public schools of Sarasota County and have established the School Resource Officer Program.
