Agenda Item #30 Title APPROVAL OF CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION FOR THE VENICE HIGH SCHOOL REBUILD PROJECT-PHASE 1 Description Under the terms of the 7/21/2009 (Item #63) Board approved "Agreement between Owner and Construction Manager for Pre-Construction & Bidding Services", the Director of Construction Services and a member of the Professional Services Selection Committee (PSSC) have successfully negotiated a contract with W.G. Mills, Inc. for a portion of the Venice High School Rebuild project. The 7/21/2009 agreement included pre-construction and bidding services only. The scope of this contract shall include the vertical construction of a new Central Energy Plant, new three-story Classroom Building and the remodel of the existing Media Center into a Cafeteria and Custodial Receiving. The Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of this contract is $31,898,600.00. The remaining contract for remainder of the construction will be negotiated upon completion of those contract documents. This contract is available for review at the Construction Services Department. The School Board attorney has approved the use of this contract. Funds for this contract are available in the project budget account. Recommendation That the contract for construction for the Venice High School Rebuild-Project-Phase 1 be approved as presented.
