All volunteers serving Sarasota County Schools are covered by the Florida Volunteer Protection Act (768.1355) which was passed last year by the Florida state legislature. This statute shelters volunteers from personal liability as they serve and perform their assigned volunteer duties. Please click on the link below and save it to your favorites so you have it available if needed.

| Simple Ways to Make Money for Bay Haven |
|
|
| These websites will donate to us if you let them know you're from Bay Haven PTO. |
www.Bigcrumbs.com - Donations made to Bay Haven at places you already shop. Check it out! When you get to the sign up page, put
Bayhaven (all one word) as your referral.
www.target/tcoe.com - Sign up for a Target card and enroll in Take Charge of Education. Designate Bay Haven as your school of choice and we will receive 1% of your Target and Target.com purchases. This adds up very quickly!
Either we send your old cell phone/electronic to them or you do, either way PTO makes money. Bay Haven get $10 for the referral and the site pays between $.50 and $150 to the individual who mails in the phone.
Anyone who goes to Amazon through this search box link will earn 4% of their total purchase for Bay Haven.
This is for Amazon Prime that gives members free 2 day shipping and other benefits. If our parents sign up through the Bay Haven Link the school gets $12.

The following
procedures are to be used when a volunteer is looking for a work assignment:
Check the P.T.O. / P.A.L.S. office in the Cafeteria to see if any
P.T.O. board member or P.A.L.S. Coordinator is there to assist you
with an assignment, or ask a member of the office staff who will locate
a faculty member with volunteer work assignments. |
|
| |
Always report to the school office before you begin your volunteer activity.
Present your driver's license or state identification to be scanned by RAPTOR and receive your Identification Badge. RAPTOR is part of the new security program that scans for sexual predators.
Use the PALS Count program to register and log your volunteer hours. This is in addition to the RAPTOR system. You MUST sign-in to both programs!
Sign in on the PALS Count Computer. It is important that the school staff knows who you are and where they can locate you in case of an emergency.
Wear your badge while on campus and during your volunteer activity to ensure that the school staff and students can easily identify you.
Sign in, sign out and be sure to log ALL your hours in the appropriate categories on the PALS Count program. Recording your hours of volunteer service is a requirement of the Florida Department of Education. Community involvement is often a criterion for the awarding of grant money to our school district. |
