Brookside Middle School Guidance Department

The guidance program at Brookside is a purposeful, developmental, programmatic approach, designed to promote self-awareness in young adults. The guidance professionals work to ensure no child is left behind and each student receives services to meet their needs. The guidance department is working to implement data driven guidance programs which meet the current needs of the student population. Counselors strive to dedicate their full time to the program's implementation. The guidance department works with students on the identification and achievement of student competencies and outcomes. Our goal is to help students to develop their abilities, aptitudes, interests, and personal traits.

The Mission of the Guidance Department at Brookside Middle School is to support learning and enhance student development in order to ensure all students have attained a state of readiness to learn, academic, personal, social, and career development.
The comprehensive school counseling program is designed and managed by professionally trained and certified specialists who provide a systematic array of curriculum, interventions, and services that include counseling, coordination and curriculum. Professional school counselors work with staff, families, and the community to support student transitions from school to school and school to work so they may become productive members of society.
