Freshman - Junior Year Calendar

 


Senior Year

Fall
- Schedule College Visits and Interviews.
- Send for College Applications or obtain them from the college website.
- Several College Representatives are going to be visiting school.   Watch for announcements on the BBS and sign up in the     college & career center.
- Great SAT study tips & tricks: "Up Your Score The Underground Guide to the SAT" by Berger, Colton, Exler, Mistry & Ross

    $10.95.

- Free practive tests on collegeboard.com and act.org

September
- Does your college require a Secondary School Report? If they require a counselor recommendation, please schedule an  

  appointment with Mrs. Pool as soon as possible.
- Request recommendations from teachers (no more than 2.)  You must give each teacher a 9x12 envelope containing a legal sized    envelope for each recommendation and a copy of your brag sheet and resume.
- College representatives will begin their high school visits. Make sure you sign up in the College Office and get a pass.
- Prepare a checklist of test registration deadlines, fees, test dates and college application deadlines.
- Prepare college application Essays and Personal Statements.
- Make an appointment with Ms. Pool if you would like to review college choices.
- Does your college require SAT II's? Check their application requirements.
- Register for the SAT and/or ACT

October
- October Deadlines to bring completed Early-Decision/Early-Action college applications to the college office for final approval and   transcript.
- Register for all tests required by the colleges to which you are applying.
- Do your colleges require the PROFILE Financial Aid application??
- Go on college interviews, visit college campuses and attend open houses.

November
- November Deadlines for all Applications.

December
- Obtain Institutional Financial Aid forms from the colleges to which you are applying. Check with these colleges regarding                 additional forms they may require.
- Double check deadlines! All applications for regular admission should be sent no later than mid-January.
- Decisions have been made concerning Early-Decision applications.

January
- Need parents Completed Income Tax returns or W-4 forms in order to complete Financial Aid forms.
- Complete and submit FAFSA (financial aid application) online or mail a paper copy as soon as possible after January 1st.
- January - Copies of your mid-semester grades must be sent to college if your college requires a Mid-Year Report.
- Mail completed Institutional Financial Aid applications.

February-April
- Try to visit campuses of schools not yet seen.
- Colleges respond to students. If eligible, students begin to receive Financial Aid packages.
- Make sure you have completed all financial aid applications.

May
- You must notify your chosen college of your intent to attend by May 1st. Colleges exchange acceptance lists. You must not

   double deposit. If you do, you may forfeit your acceptances at both colleges. Please be considerate of students on Wait Lists.

- Notify colleges to which you have been accepted, and do not wish to attend, that you are declining their offer of acceptance.
- Complete Senior Survey Form.
- Review Financial Aid packages.
- Take advanced placement exams.
