9th - 11th Calendar

 


 

Freshman Year

- Build strong academic, language, mathematics, and critical thinking skills by taking challenging courses.

- Did you form a strong bond with a teacher this year? Why not ask the teacher for a recommendation comment/letter for        your college file?

- Did you excel in a particular course? Why not take the SAT II in that discipline? Take one or two a year and you will  

  have a bank of them to choose from your senior year.

Sophomore Year
- Concentrate on academic preparation and continue to develop basic skills.
- Teacher recommendations?
- Appropriate SAT II's?

Junior Year

- Keep your grades up!
- Check the accuracy of your transcript.
- Take the PSAT to prepare for the SAT and to be eligible for the National Merit Scholarship.
- Begin to research colleges are you taking the right courses?
- Do they require SATII's?
- College Catalogues and videos are available in the College Office.
- Take the SAT I on the March, May, or June date.

- Find out about College-Prep Summer Programs. Some Colleges have programs for High School students that allow you        to experience Campus life and possible Credit. Some information is available in the College Office and on college websites.
- Register for the NCAA Clearinghouse your registration must include your junior year grades (do this in May/June).
- Write to Colleges for Catalogs, Applications, and Financial Aid Information.
- Visit Colleges (there will be little time Senior Year!).
